Privacy policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information Maison Lisse collects when you visit maisonlisse.shop, place an order or contact us, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

If anything here is unclear, email us at help@maisonlisse.shop.

1. Information we collect

Contact and identity details — your name, delivery address, billing address, email address and phone number.

Order details — the items you bought, your order number, order value, delivery method, order history, returns, exchanges, refunds and any discount codes used.

Payment details — your payment method, the last four digits and expiry date of your card, and the billing address. We never see or store your full card number or security code. Card details go directly to our payment providers.

Account details — if you create an account: your username, a securely encrypted password, saved addresses and saved preferences.

Messages you send us — emails to help@maisonlisse.shop, chat messages, product reviews, survey answers and your marketing preferences.

Device and technical information — IP address, device type, operating system, browser type and language, screen size, and identifiers set by cookies.

How you use the site — pages and products you view, where you arrived from, searches you run on the site, cart and checkout activity, visit times, and how you interact with our emails.

You don't have to give us any of this, but we do need a delivery address and an email address to process an order.

2. Where it comes from

  • From you — when you order, create an account, sign up for our newsletter, leave a review or contact us.
  • Automatically — through cookies and site logs as you browse.
  • From our providers — our store platform, payment processors, carriers and fraud-prevention tools send us information about orders, deliveries and payment risk.
  • From advertising and analytics partners — grouped, non-identifying audience and campaign data.

3. What we use it for

  • Processing your order, taking payment, arranging delivery, and handling returns, exchanges and refunds
  • Setting up and running your account
  • Answering your questions and providing customer support
  • Sending you marketing emails and messages about our products, where you've asked for them
  • Showing you relevant ads on other platforms, where you've agreed to it
  • Measuring how the site performs and improving our products, sizing guidance and service
  • Publishing reviews and photos you choose to send us
  • Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse and payment disputes
  • Keeping accounting and tax records, and dealing with any dispute or claim

We ask for your permission before sending marketing messages or using non-essential cookies, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.

4. Cookies

Some cookies are essential — they run the site, keep you signed in and hold your cart. These are always on.

Others handle analytics, personalisation and advertising, including cookies and pixels from partners such as Meta, Google and TikTok. These are only switched on if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the site footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

We also honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out for the browser or device that sends it.

5. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it with:

  • Our store platform, Shopify, which hosts the site and handles orders for us
  • Payment providers, to take payment and check for fraud
  • Carriers and fulfilment partners, who receive the name, address, email and phone number needed to deliver your parcel and handle returns
  • Email, messaging and advertising partners, where you've agreed to it
  • Analytics providers, to measure how the site and our campaigns perform
  • Review platforms, to collect and display product reviews
  • Our accountants and advisers, who are bound by confidentiality
  • Authorities, where we're required to share information, or where it's necessary to prevent fraud or handle a legal claim
  • A buyer of our business, if we're ever sold or restructured — this policy would continue to apply

6. About Shopify

Our store runs on Shopify, which processes information in order to provide the platform to us. Shopify also uses some data for its own purposes, including fraud and risk analysis and features that recognise shoppers across multiple Shopify stores. Their policy is at https://privacy.shopify.com.

7. Storage and transfers

Some of the companies we work with are based outside your country, so your information may be stored or processed elsewhere. Wherever it goes, we make sure it stays protected by appropriate contractual and technical safeguards before it's transferred.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you what information we hold about you, and give you a copy
  • correct anything that's wrong or incomplete
  • delete your information
  • stop or limit how we use it
  • send it to you or another provider in a portable format
  • stop using it for marketing — always, no reason needed
  • withdraw a permission you gave us earlier

Email help@maisonlisse.shop with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We'll reply within a month, and sooner where we can. We may ask a couple of questions to confirm it's really you. It's free, and asking never affects how we treat you as a customer.

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and every marketing text has an opt-out instruction. You can also just email us and we'll remove you.

9. How long we keep it

Information How long
Orders, invoices and accounting records As long as we're required to keep financial records
Account details While your account is active, then three years after your last activity
Newsletter sign-ups from non-customers Three years from your last contact with us
Customer service emails Three years after your enquiry is closed
Cookies and similar identifiers Up to 13 months, then we ask again
Anything needed for an open dispute Until it's resolved

After that, information is deleted or permanently anonymised.

10. Security

We protect the site with encryption (HTTPS), limit who on our side can see order data, store passwords in encrypted form, and use certified payment providers so card details never reach our own systems.

No website can promise perfect security. Please don't email us sensitive information such as full card numbers. If something ever goes wrong in a way that affects you, we'll tell you.

11. Children

Our store is for adults and isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us their details, email help@maisonlisse.shop and we'll delete them.

12. Other websites

Our site may link to other websites and social media pages we don't control. This policy doesn't cover them, and we're not responsible for how they handle your information. Have a look at their own policies before sharing anything.

13. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page with the date it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we'll let you know on the site or by email.
